  7. You need 1 cup bottle gourd / lauki, grated
  8. Provide 3 tbsp coriander, finely chopped
  9. You need 1/2 tsp ginger paste
  10. Use 1 green chilli, finely chopped
  11. You need 1/2 tsp sugar
  12. Use 1/4 tsp turmeric / haldi
  13. Provide 2 tsp oil
  14. Take 3/4 tsp salt
  15. You need 1 tsp eno / fruit salt
  16. Use Tempting
  17. Prepare 3 tsp oil
  18. Use 3/4 tsp mustard
  19. Get 1/2 tsp cumin / jeera
  20. Get 1 tsp sesame / til
  21. Use 5-6 curry leaves
  22. Prepare pinch hing / asafoetida
Steps to make Handvo:
  1. Firstly, soak rice, chana dal, toor dal, urad dal for 3-4 hours.
  2. Add curd and blend to a smooth but slightly coarse paste.
  3. Further add grated bottle gourd, coriander.
  4. Also add ginger paste, green chilli, sugar, chilli powder, turmeric, oil and salt.
  5. Mix well making sure the batter is slightly thick like idli batter consistency. - now add eno / fruit salt and mix gently.
  6. Bake the handvo in over or cook on tawa
