Almost every “get healthy” and “weight loss” document you go through will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. There’s some worth to that. Occasionally, though, the last thing you want is to have to cook an evening meal from scratch. Once in a while you need to pay a visit to the drive through while you are on your way home and complete the day. Why shouldn’t you be capable of do this every now and then and not have a bunch of guilt about slipping up on your diet program? This is because a lot of the famous fast food restaurants out there are trying to “healthy up” their choices. Here is how to eat healthy when you visit the drive through.

Pick water, juice or milk as a drink. Choosing a large softdrink as your beverage gives hundreds of unhealthy calories to your meal. A sole portion of soda is commonly thought to be eight ounces. Those eight ounces tend to be at least 100 calories and around ten tablespoons of sugar. Most fast food carbonated drinks are a minimum of twenty ounces huge. It is most often at least 30 ounces. This shows that your drink alone will put a multitude of ounces of sugar into your body as well as several thousand empty calories. It is much healthier to decide on milk, juice or perhaps normal water.

Simple reason states that the simplest way to lose pounds and get healthy is to ban fast food from your diet completely. Most of the time this is a good plan but if you make great choices, there is no reason you can’t visit your drive through once in a while. Sometimes what you need is to let someone else create your dinner. If you choose healthy things, the shame usually associated with hitting the drive through shouldn’t be so bad.

Instructions to make Ted's Chili:
  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet, drain grease and add to crockpot or large stew pot.
  2. Sear the cubed meat until browned on the outside and add to the pot. NOTE: does not have to be cooked through
  3. Strain and rinse the beans and add to pot. Also add the canned tomatoes plus the juice.
  4. Add diced onions and half of the diced peppers to the pot. Then add the rest of the ingredients. Wait until an hour before serving to add the rest of the peppers. NOTE: waiting to add peppers helps to keep their texture…this is optional
  5. Top off your crockpot with V8 juice or add about half of the bottle if using an oversized stew pot. Simmer the mixture on low for a few hours. The chili should naturally thicken and the stew meat will become tender.
