- Provide 1 large onion, chopped
- Take 1 medium green bell pepper, chopped
- You need 2 celery ribs, chopped
- Take 2 can kidney beans, rinsed and drained (16 oz)
- You need 1 can tomato puree (29 oz)
- Use 1 jar salsa (16 oz)
- Get 1 can beef broth (10.5 oz)
- Take 1 cup (to 2 cups) water
- Prepare 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- Prepare 1/4 cup chili powder
- Provide 1 tbsp dried basil
- Take 2 tsp ground cumin
- Take 2 tsp steak sauce (A1 or Heinz 57)
- Provide 1 tsp garlic powder
- Get 1 tsp salt
- Use 1 tsp ground black pepper
- You need 1 1/2 tsp browning sauce, optional (I never put this in)
- Prepare 1 Top with additional chopped onion, shredded sharp cheddar cheese, sour cream, and oyster crackers if you'd like!
Instructions to make Ground Beef Chili:
- In large pot (I always use my Dutch oven) brown ground beef with onion, green bell pepper and celery. Drain
- Stir in all other ingredients, bring up to a boil, and then down to a simmer for 30 minutes, uncovered, or until desired thickness.
- Top with onion, cheese, sour cream, and oyster crackers if you'd like!
