- Take Mashed potatoes:
- Get 2 kg potatoes
- Get 1/2 cup milk
- Provide 2 tablespoons butter
- Prepare 2 egg yolks

- Use For the filling;
- Take 4 tablespoons vegetable oil
- You need 500 gms minced beef

- Get 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- Provide Rosemary, thyme
- Get 4 cloves minced garlic

Instructions to make Shepard's pie:
- Preheat oven to 200c
- Put potatoes in a sufuria with salted water and boil for 15 minutes or till tender but firm.
- In the meantime start on filling.
- Pour oil in hot pan then add mince meat,stir for a few minutes till it browns & broken into small pieces.
- Add onion, carrots,garlic, Worcestershire sauce, tomato puree, red wine, thyme, rosemary stir and let it cook for 4 minutes
- Add broth and cook for 3 more minutes. Add peas and corn stir a bit and remove from stove
- For the cooked potatoes: drain the water add butter, a bit of milk, salt and pepper to taste then mash. You can add a bit of milk if the consistency is too thick. Milk should be hot.
- If it looks okay(not too soft or hard) add the egg yolks and mash
- Scoop the cooked meat mix and place in a large oven safe dish.
- Spread the mash on top
- Use the bottom of a spoon to do so
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese on top. If unable to find in shops you can use VERY sharp cheddar.
- Poke the above in several places then place in preheated oven for 20 minutes.
- Once done let it rest for a few minutes and enjoy 😋
