Before you jump to Baked Ziti recipe, you may want to read this short interesting healthy tips about Choosing Healthy and balanced Fast Food.

Almost every single “get healthy” and “weight loss” article you study will tell you to skip the drive through and make all of your meals yourself. This is really very true. But occasionally the last thing you want to do is make a whole supper for yourself and your family. Sometimes almost all you desperately want is to go to the drive through and get home as quickly as possible. There isn’t any reason that you shouldn’t be permitted to do this and not be tormented by guilt about slipping on your diet. You are capable of doing this because most of the popular joints are now advertising “healthy” menu selections to keep their businesses up. Here’s how it is possible to eat healthfully when you’re at a fast food restaurant.

Choose the drive through based on whether it has more healthy options available. For example, Arby’s won’t serve hamburgers. Instead, your selections consist of roast beef and chicken sandwiches, wraps and big salads. While Wendy’s has served hamburgers for decades, they also have a lot of other healthy options like salads, baked potatoes and chili. Not every thing is McDonalds using its deep fried chicken parts as well as other terribly unfit items.

Logic says that one the simplest way to stay healthy is to avoid the drive through and never eat fast food. While, in most cases, this is a good idea, if you make smart choices, there is no reason to feel guilty for visiting a drive through one or two times a month. Sometimes what you need most is just to have somebody else do the cooking. When you choose healthy menu items, you do not have to feel bad about visiting the drive through.

  1. You need 2 lbs penne pasta
  2. Take 1 1/2 lbs ground beef
  3. Provide 24 oz tomato sauce
  4. Prepare 4 1/2 cups ricotta cheese
  5. Get 4 cups mozzarella cheese (shredded)
  6. Use 1 cup parmesan cheese
  7. Use 2 eggs
  8. Take 4 tbsp parsley
  9. Prepare 1 tbsp salt
  10. You need 1 tsp black pepper
  11. Use 1 tsp oregano
  12. Get 1/4 cup halved pepperoni slices (optional)
Instructions to make Baked Ziti:
  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees
  2. Boil water. Add some salt (about 1 tbsp) to flavor the pasta as it cooks. Once it boils, add pasta and cook for 15 minutes. Once pasta is done cooking, mix in a bit of sauce to keep it from sticking.
  3. Heat a pan at medium heat, add the beef and some water (maybe 2 cups or so). Brown the chopped meat. This will take about 10 minutes - you’ll know it’s done when the juice is clear.
  4. Then drain it. Once the meat cools a bit, break it up into small pieces if it isn’t already.
  5. Get a large foil roast pan and coat the bottom with about 1/4 cup of sauce.
  6. In a large bowl, mix together the meat and all ingredients, except the cooked pasta. Leave a little bit of sauce to the side to drizzle over the top later.
  7. After the meat, cheeses, eggs, and seasonings are mixed well, add the pasta and mix well again.
  8. Put the ziti in the baking pan. Sprinkle some extra mozzarella and parmesan cheese (maybe 2 handfuls of each) over the top layer. Then drizzle the last of the sauce over top.
  9. Cover the pan with foil and cook in the oven for 1 hour and 10 minutes. Then, take off the foil and cook for another 20 minutes or so.
